Screen Printing
Screen Printing involves creating a stencil, known as a screen, and then using that screen to apply ink on the printing surface. Each individual color is applied using a different screen, one at a time, combined to achieve the final look. The more colors a design has, the more screens that are needed, and the more setup time required which is why screen printed orders carry a minimum piece requirement.
Screen printing is the best option for large designs and is ideal for thin stretchy garments like t-shirts and hoodies.
PRICE FACTORS:
Type of Garment: For almost every product type we have an inexpensive, mid-range, and high end option, and there are many styles to choose from.
Quantity: Due to the setup involved in screen printing, the more shirts you order, the lower your price will be, screen printing orders have minimum order requirements.
Number of Locations: Each location requires new setup and runs for your imprint. Just a front print will always be cheaper than a front and back print.
Number of Colors: The number of colors in each design affects the run time and setup for each location. A one color print will be less expensive than a three color print. If you have a lot of colors and tones of colors in your design, a process print may be a cheaper solution.
Embroidery
There are certain garment types where screen printing isn’t as ideal, and when this is the case, embroidery is a great alternative for putting your logo on heavier items like jackets, polos, hats, bags, and more. Embroidery orders have no minimum piece restriction and are priced on a case by case basis depending on size and stitch count.
If durability is a concern embroidery is often the better choice. An embroidered design stitched straight into the fabric is more likely to last for longer than a screen printed design, which is printed on top of the fabric.

Heat Press
Heat press is used to imprint a design or graphic on a substrate, such as a t-shirt, with the application of heat and pressure for a preset period of time, essentially a high quality iron-on. Heat press is clean and environmental friendly and is great for small runs.
When to Screen Print or Heat Press? For quality and long-lasting designs, screen printing is ideal but it is not ideal for sophisticated designs or small detailed designs which is where heat press is the better choice.
